Principal's Message Dear Caughman Road Elementary Families:
Congratulations again to the entire Caughman Road Elementary School community for working together to produce an efficient and successful 2009-2010 school year. I am very impressed with the commitment and effort that I have seen this school year!
Parents have displayed extra efforts in supporting their children, their homeroom and the school. The students are exhibiting good manners, cooperation and serious work habits. Specifically, your PTO has been amazing! They have mobilized to support the school in numerous different ways. They are currently working on campus/building beautification, among other initiatives. Please be proud of the Caughman Road PTO and support them and their programs in any way that you can.
The School Improvement Council (SIC) continues to work on the school’s behalf, also. One focus for SIC this year will be supporting student safety and partnerships between home, school and the community. The SIC representative election was held and the new board has been trained and is ready to go. The monthly SIC meetings are open to all so you are welcome to attend any meeting. Please consider joining and helping the SIC to make Caughman Road Elementary even better!
Finally, thank you to everyone as you follow the school procedures that pertain to student safety. The Richland One School District makes campus security a priority and Caughman Road must enforce ID checks and passes for all visitors everyday. Additionally, please remember that school begins at 7:30am and dismissal is at 2:30pm.
All procedures and policies may be found in the Parent Handbook online at http://caughman.rcsd1.org/home.aspx. I strongly urge you to use this valuable resource.
Please keep in close communication with your teacher so that we can continue this early success throughout the 2009-2010 school year. Furthermore, call the office with any of your questions and concerns.
Thank You, Jane H. Wyatt, Principal
